Starting as a simple device that only measured a single dose using an electrical charge, to film badges using photographic film, to crystal-based TLDs, dosimeters have advanced to the most current version: aluminum oxide-based OSL dosimeters.<\/p>\n<p>Dosimeters have become one of the most necessary tools worn by professionals working with radiation, as they measure the accumulated dose of ionized radiation a worker receives over time to help keep their dose as low as reasonably achievable.<\/p>\n<p>According to Article 15 of Circular No. 19\/2012\/TT-BKHCN, organizations and individuals conducting radiation work must provide personal dosimeters for all employees who work in the control and monitoring areas.
